The Giaour

-Fragment-
by Lord Byron

A turban carved in coarsest stone,
A pillar with rank weeds o’ergrown,
Whereon can now be scarcely read
The Koran verse that mourns the dead,
Point out the spot where Hassan fell
A victim in that lonely dell.
There sleeps as true an Osmanlie
As e’er at Mecca bent the knee;
As ever scorn’d forbidden wine,
Or pray’d with face towards the shrine,
In orisons resumed anew
At solemn sound of „Alla Hu!”
Yet died he by a stranger’s hand,
And stranger in his native land;
Yet died he as in arms he stood,
And unavenged, at least in blood.
But him the maids of Paradise
Impatient to their halls invite,
And the dark Heaven of Houris’ eyes
On him shall glance for ever bright;
They come–their kerchiefs green they wave,
And welcome with a kiss the brave!
Who falls in battle ‘gainst a Giaour
Is worthiest an immortal bower.

But thou, false Infidel! shall writhe
Beneath avenging Monkir’s scythe;
And from its torments ‘scape alone
To wander round lost Eblis’ throne;
And fire unquench’d, unquenchable,
Around, within, thy heart shall dwell;
Nor ear can hear nor tongue can tell
The tortures of that inward hell!
But first, on earth as Vampire sent,
Thy corse shall from its tomb be rent:
Then ghastly haunt thy native place,
And suck the blood of all thy race;
There from thy daughter, sister, wife,
At midnight drain the stream of life;
Yet loathe the banquet which perforce
Must feed thy livid living corse:
Thy victims ere they yet expire
Shall know the demon for their sire,
As cursing thee, thou cursing them,
Thy flowers are withered on the stem.
But one that for thy crime must fall,
The youngest, most beloved of all,
Shall bless thee with a father’s name–
That word shall wrap thy heart in flame!
Yet must thou end thy task, and mark
Her cheek’s last tinge, her eye’s last spark,
And the last glassy glance must view
Which freezes o’er its lifeless blue;
Then with unhallow’d hand shalt tear
The tresses of her yellow hair,
Of which in life a lock when shorn
Affection’s fondest pledge was worn,
But now is borne away by thee,
Memorial of thine agony!
Wet with thine own best blood shall drip
Thy gnashing tooth and haggard lip;
Then stalking to thy sullen grave,
Go–and with Gouls and Afrits rave;
Till these in horror shrink away
From Spectre more accursed than they!

Moon hangs around
A blade over my head
Reminds me what to do before I’m dead
Night consumes light
And all I dread
Reminds me what to do before I’m dead

The sun reclines
Eats my mind
Reminds me what to leave behind
Light eats night
And all I never said
Reminds me what to do before I’m…

To see you
To touch you
To see you
To touch you

Epochs fly, reminds me
What I hide, reminds me
The desert skies
Cracks the spies
Reminds me what I never tried
The ocean wide salted red
Reminds me what to do before I’m…

To see you
To touch you
To feel you
To tell you

The sun reclines – remind me
The desert skies – remind me
The ocean wide salted red
Reminds me what to do before I’m…

Echo:
See you
Touch you
Feel you
Tell you

Excess [versuri]

I believe in
I deceive in
Bottom weaving
I can breathe in
Make a wish in
Flower fishing
Moving vibration
Mild relation
I’m jamaican on your radio station
Got a curse in
Could be worse in
You first
In a hearse in
Good as dead in
Nothing left in
Nothing left in
Some be heading
I need a head rest in
And a feed from a warm breast
A man making hits
For the childhood of hicks
Underground like
Who’s it sound like
You all sound the same
But you don’t know my name

I believe in people lying
I believe in people dying
I believe in people flying
I believe in people crying
I believe in people balking
I believe in people talking
I believe in people breathing
I believe in people being

We all sound the same
You don’t know my name
Rearrange and
Things don’t change
Things remain
Feel the strain
Stress
Catch my breath
(There’ll be a new tale of)
Get some rest
(He and I)
From the mess
(In fact any time)
I couldn’t care less
(Every day)
Sugar cane
(Write fictional stories)
Is like smack to my vein
Shook fame
(If you want to)
But I don’t complain
(On the street)

I believe in different reasons
I believe in breath through seasons
I believe when snow flakes fall
I believe in buildings tall
I believe in people bombing
I believe in people warring
I believe diseases coming
I believe that’s why I’m running

Keep living

You gotta ask
(There’ll be a new tale of)
Before he attacks
(He and I)
You got the flats
(In fact any time)
Dub my sacks
(Every day)
You’ve got the city
(Writing fictional stories)
Move out of the country
I’m scrunching
(If you want to)
Friends that are punchy
(On the street)

I believe in people falling
I believe in people warring
I believe diseases coming
I believe that’s why I’m running
I believe in people balking
I believe in people talking
I believe in people breathing
I believe in people being

Keep living…

Body Crumbles [versuri]

Finally recover,
And the mood is right,
Lookin’ up into a neon sky,
Child of me takes over,
Guess it’s been too long,
Since the last time that,
I tried to fly…

Finally I fly,
When I lose control,
Inside my body crumbles,
It’s like therapy,
For my broken soul,
Inside my body crumbles

All I need’s a moment,
Chance to get away,
From the stressfulness of every day,
Know if i don’t question,
And I never doubt,
Everything is gonna be okay…

Finally I fly,
When I lose control,
Inside my body crumbles,
It’s like therapy,
For my broken soul,
Inside my body crumbles…

It’s okay to be myself..
I don’t know if I’ll be alright,
I don’t know if I’ll be alright,
I’ll never have to hide,
I don’t know if I’ll be alright,
I don’t know if I’ll be alright,
Trying to replace…
I don’t know if I’ll be alright,
I don’t know if I’ll be alright,
Now I know..
It’s alright

Finally I fly,
When I lose control,
Inside my body crumbles,
It’s like therapy,
For my broken soul,
Inside my BODY….

Finally I fly,
When I lose control,
Inside my body crumbles,
It’s like therapy,
For my broken soul,
Inside my body crumbles…
